Google shows the way
Google.com plans to release a video search Web application, which will build upon a current offering that allows publishers and consumers to submit their own video for indexing. Publishers will set a small fee to view the video and Google will take a piece of the action.
It seems to me this could be done for audio even more easily than for video.
For example, if I'm Infinity Broadcasting and own all kinds of proprietary audio content, then why not create one "super-site" where all that content can be "purchased"?
One super-site will be a lot more effective than a zillion station mini-sites. Sales and listenership will both be greater that way.
An Amazon.com for radio entertainment?
I hope it's on the way.
